Nether Oaks Camping
Secluded camping beneath the dappled shade of oaks planted in 1890 by local school children.

About: Our speciality is peaceful grassy glades nestled at the woodland edge, perfect for groups of up to four families. We also offer individual pitches on a grassy avenue through the middle of the wood, close to our communal space with its dramatic dragon pizza oven, barbecue, long table for shared meals and huge fire bowls.
Six acres of oak woodland are open for den-building, with a wide grassy avenue perfect for games. We like to add extra fun too - this year, there’s a mud kitchen. Each glade has its own fire bowl and tucked between the trees are two rustic toilet blocks, each with spacious composting toilets and a gas-heated shower.
The wood sits in the heart of the countryside down a half-mile track. We set aside half of it for wildlife, giving you plenty of opportunities to spot the Suffolk flora and fauna. A historic trackway runs alongside the wood, known as Queen Mary’s Lane. It’s named after Mary Tudor, who was declared the first Queen of England at nearby Framlingham Castle and marched her army along this very route to claim the throne from Lady Jane Grey. Today, it forms part of a scenic 2.5-mile circular walk through beautiful neighbouring Woodland Trust land. A network of tracks also leads you on foot or by bike to fantastic local pubs in nearby villages, or cross-country to the market town of Framlingham just 2.5 miles away.
For days out, the Suffolk coast is just 13 miles east, with favourites like Dunwich, Thorpeness, Walberswick, Southwold, Aldeburgh, Minsmere, Orford and Shingle Street. Sutton Hoo, the famous Anglo-Saxon ship burial, lies to the south.
Worth Noting: No power and no laundry facilities on site. We can refresh your freezer blocks.
Each glade has a different size limit - see website.
