Windrush Camping

A small and family friendly campsite in the north east finger of the Cotswolds AONB.

About: Windrush camping launched in 2026, set on a 50-acre small holding in the Cotswolds AONB. Windrush smallholding is home to many animals, including a brood of chickens, providing fresh eggs for campers and a small flock of Herwick sheep, and their lambs. Early risers might catch a glimpse of Smidge or Thomas, the resident cats hunting in the long grass or birds of prey flying overhead.

The campsite offers just five generously spaced meadow pitches, accessed via mown pathways in the long grass and wild flowers. For children this feels like a maze leading to your pitch. Each pitch has its own fire pit where guests can enjoy alfresco cooking, or simply watching the flames.

At night, the site is peaceful and with virtually no light pollution in the area it is the perfect spot for star gazing. The only noise at night is the sound of the sheep, or the occasional ambient owl.

Simplicity is our moto when it comes to site facilities. We offer composting toilets, shower and washing up facilities. There is also a communal seating area where you can share the stories of your day’s exploration in the Cotswolds with fellow campers over your favourite drink.

Worth Noting: We are family-friendly campsite. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times. The site is no-traffic, with parking kept to the edge of the field. Wheelbarrows are available to move kit to pitches. Facilities are simple, off-grid and designed for low-impact camping. Being an off grid campsite there is no electricity, but phones can be charged by request.
