Awel yr Awen Campsite
A secluded eco campsite, a short distance from the coast, near the Cambrian Mountains and the beautiful beaches of Cardigan Bay.

About: Set in 72 acres of organic meadow and woodland, on a beautiful and hidden estate in the Aeron valley, Awel yr Awen Campsite is a brand new eco retreat, for all those looking to relax and unwind in the beauty of nature. With just eight pitches, well away from roads and towns, it's an oasis of peace and quiet.
Each pitch has its own campfire for evenings spent stargazing and relaxing after a day at the beach, walking the coastal path or visiting one of the many beautiful places in Ceredigion. The eight spacious pitches are spread out in an historic meadow, which is being gradually re-wilded into woodland. Red kites, buzzards, swallows, herons and a host of other birds are regular visitors. Foxes, owls and badgers can also be spotted at night.
Bring your own tent or stay in one of our luxury bell-tents, where mattresses and bedding are provided. The field is equipped with eco-toilets and hot, off-grid showers, as well as sinks for washing-up. The camping field is largely a car-free zone once you have finished unloading, with parking available in the nearby farmyard.
Awel yr Awen means ‘breeze of the muse’; in the 1940s, poet Dylan Thomas lived at Gelly, the farm where Awel yr Awen is situated. Locals remember how he used to sit under the great western red cedar near the house, drinking a mug of fresh milk straight from the milking parlour, every morning. Owned by Rolanda and her family since 1980, the house is a family home and a refuge for all who come here.
Worth Noting: Sorry but due to free-ranging poultry in the farmyard we are unable to accept dogs. Campfires are provided on all pitches.
