Buckland Farm Camping
Discover the beautiful Blackdown Hills from our back-to-nature campsite, on a working farm close to the Somerset/Devon border.
About: Open for the first time in 2022, our off-grid campsite near the Blackdown Hills is a perfect, easy access location for exploring this beautiful part of Somerset. We welcome singles, couples, families and dogs. As well as the campsite and family farm, we also run a dog training school, and training is available (see website). There is an off lead area for your dogs to run, sniff and play.
When you stay with us, you will be in a great location for exploring the area – whether by foot, bike, horse or car. There is lots to see within easy reach – go for a day out on the West Somerset Steam Railway, explore the ancient woodland of Buckland Woods (walk from the site), or relax and unwind with a glass of wine and cook your supper on one of our grill/firepits.
We have a picnic and play area and for occasional rainy days, there is a covered area (a large bell tent), with seating, games and books. There is also a facility for charging your small electrical gadgets.
The pitches are spacious with only 15 in total over spread over five acres. The pitches are mown into the longer grass and are around 12 x 14 metres in size, so can accommodate large set-ups, extra gazebos/pup tents etc (there is no extra charge for these).
We have compost loos (six, plus urinals), hot showers, and washing up sinks.
Worth Noting: We are in a deeply rural setting but also just 10 minutes drive from the M5, giving easy access for exploring. We are a working farm, so at busy times, there may be some tractor noise.
