About: Situated in rural Lancashire, nestled within the Lune Valley and the picturesque Forest of Bowland AONB, Whinney Hill Farm ampsite is conveniently located a short drive from Lancaster and a mere stone's throw from the renowned Lake District National Park.

The campsite is located within 180 acres and is also home to The British Thoroughbred Retraining Centre, a charity devoted to caring for and re-homing retired racehorses once their track careers conclude.

At Whinney Hill Farm, the experience resembles wild camping, without electricity but featuring amenities such as a washing-up area, two compost toilets, and two gas-operated showers to make your stay comfortable.

Whinney Hill Farm offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle, allowing relaxation, nature immersion, wildlife spotting, and star gazing. With just six pitches spread over three acres of meadow, you'll enjoy ample space and privacy for a tranquil stay.

Worth Noting: The campsite is located at the home of The British Thoroughbred Retraining Centre (BTRC) - a charity that rehomes retired racehorses when their careers on the racetrack are over. Whinney Hill Farm Community Interest Company donate all end of year profits to BTRC, so by camping at WHF you are supporting a great cause!

Dogs are always welcome but must be kept under control at all times. Dog owners must clear up after their dogs. Fire pitsĀ and BBQs are permitted provided they are raised off the ground sufficiently to protect the grass. Cleaning - Please leave your area clean and tidy, when it is time to go home.
