About: Cuckoo Fen offers a classic back-to-basics, off grid but comfortable camping experience, where a campfire and love of nature is essential. The recommended playlist on site is the sound of the local fauna and flora, which is piped into every pitch, free of charge every day!

Cuckoo Fen has up to fifteen pitches across three acres of pasture, all sheltered by trees and tall hedgerows. All pitches are on level, stone-free, grassy ground and campers can choose where to pitch on arrival. You can park at your pitch or leave your car near the gate – it’s up to you.

Facilities are far more comfortable and reassuring than their simplicity gives them the right to be. Showers are always hot and powerful and the dry compost toilets spotless and fresh smelling. Plenty of hot water is of course always on tap at the basins too.

On-site entertainment is all about the woods, straw bales and open air cooking on our free to use firebowls. There’s also plenty of room for ballgames.

Bring your canoes if you have them because Cuckoo Fen is less than a mile from the river Great Ouse where a public slipway, parking and picnic area is free for all to enjoy.

The area benefits from many local public footpaths and cycle-ways. Nearby, there are three RSPB nature reserves, including one of Britain's largest Reedbeds which is a two minute walk away. Within half an hour are Grafham Water Park, the historic university city of Cambridge, Wicken Fen National Nature Reserve, Duxford Aircraft and Imperial War Museum and Historic Ely - England’s smallest city.

Campers can reach amenities easily with a short walk to the village of Over where you'll find a local pub and a surprisingly well-stocked village shop.

Worth Noting: Despite being so well connected to vibrant Cambridge, Cuckoo Fen is hidden deep in the countryside on the edge of one of the largest wild spaces in East Anglia. On a very peaceful 'dead end' leading nowhere but to the fens, Cuckoo Fen offers the best of all worlds.
