Bryn y Cadno Camping
A natural and wild, small secluded camping retreat on our little slice of Welsh heaven.

About: A unique and secluded site on an ancient farmstead, in the heart of rural Carmarthenshire. Bryn y Cadno is natural and quite wild in places – as its custodians we look after it in an environmental and sustainable way for future generations.
Our three bell tents are accessed over the humpbacked bridge, taking you back in time to the days when life was lit by the sun, the moon and the stars. Be lulled to sleep by the babbling river and woken by morning birdsong. No clock watching, just nature's time. The handful of camping pitches mown into the long grass in the sheltered hay meadow are generous and widely spaced.
Relax or explore the farm. Follow the bedrock track up the hill for stunning views of the Black Mountain. Watch the red kites and buzzards soar overhead or wander through the woods or wild meadows which are home to myriads of little creatures, butterflies and birds. Watch the fish below the bridge and just maybe spot a kingfisher or an otter. There are designated mown areas for games and a selection of up-cycled trundles for our smaller guests.
Although an off grid site, we do provide some luxury. Each pitch has its own picnic table, campfire and grill with shared compost loos, hot water showers and washing up sink. The Bell Tents also have their own simple covered cooking area, private shower and compost loo. Phone charging and fridge and freezer space is available.
Whilst being secluded, we are only a short trip away from Llandeilo and its eclectic array of eateries and boutique shops. There are quiet lanes for walking or cycling and we are ideally situated for exploring the many interesting and beautiful places Carmarthenshire has to offer; castles, gardens, mountains, river valleys as well as a goldmine and a steam railway.
Blowing our own trumpet, Bryn y Cadno was part of a documentary film of the River Towy (the longest river that runs entirely in Wales). The documentary shows the otters visiting our pond in search for their supper.
