About: Orchard Hideaway nestles in a small and tranquil, traditional Devon orchard on our working family farm.

Our Hideaway Cabin welcomes two visitors to enjoy the ultimate romantic break. Built on the family farm it is totally self-contained for your privacy and furnished to a very high standard with full-sized double bed, well equipped kitchen and en-suite shower room. Outside you will find a cosy seating area with fire pit to cook on, stunning views of the surrounding countryside and a designated off-road parking space. Relax and unwind with your favourite book and a glass of wine as the sun sets beyond the rolling hills.

Our three spacious tent pitches - Russet, Bramley and Elder are hidden within the sheltered orchard, perfect for kicking back with a book, enjoying the peace and spotting wildlife.

Each camping pitch has a seating area and fire basket with grill, firewood (more available to purchase on site), plus shared use of a hot shower, flushing toilet and camp wash-up with fridge (with ice box) and USB charge point. We also have for sale, beef burgers from our home-reared cattle, plus bottles of apple juice pressed from our own apples.

We provide environmentally friendly body wash, shampoo and washing up liquid for your use while staying with us.

Running along the bottom of Orchard Hideaway is a small stream, and you’ll notice that we’ve deliberately left areas of the site uncut to encourage wildlife to live here too. Look out for butterflies, foxes, roe deer, rabbits, pheasants, dragonflies and more, during your stay.

We are located in the very heart of mid Devon, from Orchard Hideaway you can explore nearby Cadbury Castle, an Iron Age hill fort, or Raddon Top – both offering spectacular views. The thatched village of Thorverton is just 1.5 miles away, the Berry Dairy Village Stores has all the essentials, or try the Exe Valley Farm Shop for breakfast, lunch and tasty local treats. We are surrounded by village pubs serving good food and locally made ciders.

Further afield are the beautiful National Parks of Dartmoor to the south and Exmoor to the north, perfect for walking, cycling, horse riding and lazy picnics. The Roman City of Exeter is just 20 minutes away with its impressive cathedral, historic quayside and a choice of eating out and shopping to suit all tastes.

Back on the farm we have a flock of 500 sheep including Dorsets, Suffolks and Mules, as well as Aberdeen Angus and Charolais cattle. We’re passionate about the environment when it comes to the farm too and have planted hundreds of meters of new hedgerows, created a large pond and grow mixed herbal crops for our animals to graze in the summertime.

We look forward to welcoming you to share Orchard Hideaway with us.

Worth Noting: Each pitch has a seating area, fire basket with grill, firewood, plus shared use of a hot shower, flushing toilet and fridge with ice box. We are a working livestock farm so cannot take dogs. Parking for one car per pitch with a wheelbarrow to transport belongings to site. Home-reared burgers and home-grown apple juice available.
